A booking code (also called a slip code or bet code) is a short alphanumeric string that represents a saved betslip. When you add selections to your betslip and tap "Book" instead of "Place Bet", the bookmaker saves that combination on their servers and hands you a code — usually 6–12 characters — that anyone can use to reload the same selections.
Booking codes do not place a bet. They only save the selections. The person who loads the code still needs to stake their own money.
How a booking code works
Creating a code
- Add your selections to your betslip on any bookmaker (Bet9ja, SportyBet, 1xBet, etc.).
- Look for a "Book" or "Share Slip" button near the total odds display.
- The bookmaker saves your picks and shows you a code.
Loading a code
- Open the bookmaker's website or app.
- Find the "Load Code" or "Booking Code" field (usually on the betslip panel).
- Paste or type the code — your selections appear automatically.
- Review the odds, enter your stake, and place the bet.
Codes are time-sensitive
Most booking codes expire between 24 and 72 hours after creation. Some bookmakers set a shorter window for matches that are about to start. Once a code expires, loading it will return an error.

Formats vary and can change when a bookmaker updates their platform. If you see an error loading a code, double-check that you have the full string and no extra spaces.
Why a code from one bookmaker won't load on another
Each bookmaker uses their own internal event IDs, market codes, and selection labels. A Bet9ja booking code contains Bet9ja's internal identifiers — those mean nothing to SportyBet's system.

What booking codes cannot do
- They cannot lock in odds. Odds on a loaded code reflect the bookmaker's current prices, not the prices when the code was created.
