Wimbledon is a Grand Slam tournament played on grass at the All England Club in London. Betting markets for Wimbledon follow the same structure as other tennis tournaments, but one detail changes what is available for each match: the format.
Men's singles at Wimbledon is best-of-5 sets. Women's singles is best-of-3 sets. This difference affects which markets bookmakers offer and what the set and games lines look like. A Total Sets line of 4.5 does not exist for women's singles, because a best-of-3 match can produce at most 3 sets.
Match Winner
The simplest tennis market. You pick which player wins the match. There is no draw in tennis — every match produces a winner.
Example: Alcaraz vs Djokovic. You pick Alcaraz. If Alcaraz wins in 3 sets, 4 sets, or 5 sets, your selection wins. If Djokovic wins, your selection loses.
If a player retires during the match, bookmakers generally settle on the player who was leading at the point of retirement. Check the individual bookmaker's retirement policy if this matters for your selection.
Set Betting
You predict the exact set score — not just who wins, but how many sets the winner takes and how many the loser takes.
For men's singles (best-of-5), the possible winning outcomes are 3-0, 3-1, and 3-2. For women's singles (best-of-3), the possible outcomes are 2-0 and 2-1.
Example: You pick Swiatek 2-1 (women's singles). Swiatek loses the first set, wins the second and third. Final: 2-1 to Swiatek — your selection wins. If she wins 2-0, it loses.
There is no 3-0 or 3-1 result in women's singles — the format caps at 3 sets.
Total Games Over/Under
You predict whether the total number of games played across the entire match will be over or under a set line. A tiebreak counts as one game.
Lines are much higher for men's matches than women's matches because of the format difference.
Example (men's): You pick Over 36.5 Total Games. The match goes 7-5, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 = 38 games total — wins. If it goes 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 = 27 games — loses.
1st Set Winner
You predict which player wins the opening set, regardless of who wins the match overall. Available for all Wimbledon matches.
Total Sets Over/Under
You predict whether the match will require more or fewer sets than the line.

Example (women's): You pick Over 2.5 Total Sets. Rybakina wins 7-5 in the third set after losing the second — 3 sets total. Over 2.5 wins. If she wins 6-3, 6-2, only 2 sets are played — Under 2.5 wins.
A Total Sets line of 4.5 for women's singles does not exist because the format allows a maximum of 3 sets.
Game Handicap
One player is given a virtual games advantage or disadvantage for the whole match. Settlement is based on the total games each player won after applying the handicap.
Example: You pick Djokovic (-4.5 games). Djokovic wins 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 = 19 games for Djokovic, 12 for his opponent. 19 minus 4.5 = 14.5 vs 12. Djokovic covers the handicap — wins.
Set Handicap
One player is given a virtual sets advantage or disadvantage. Settlement is based on sets won after the handicap is applied.
- Women's singles lines: -1.5 / +1.5 (the only options in a best-of-3 format)
- Men's singles lines: -2.5, -1.5, +1.5, +2.5
Example (women's, +1.5): You pick Kerber +1.5 sets. Kerber loses 0-2. Adjusted: 0 + 1.5 = 1.5 sets for Kerber vs 2 for her opponent. Kerber does not cover +1.5 — loses. But if Kerber takes one set (loses 1-2): 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 vs 2 — Kerber covers +1.5 — wins.
