Clean Sheet and Teams to Score are two related goal markets that look at the same match from different angles. Clean Sheet focuses on one team — did they concede? Teams to Score looks at both teams simultaneously — how many of them found the net? Understanding both markets (and how they overlap with BTTS) makes it easier to read bookmaker listings correctly.
What is a Clean Sheet bet?
A clean sheet market asks whether a specific team will concede zero goals during the match. It does not care about what the team scores — only whether they let any goal in.
Two standard variants exist:
- Home Clean Sheet — does the home team concede zero goals?
- Away Clean Sheet — does the away team concede zero goals?
Each has two outcomes: Yes (team concedes nothing) or No (team concedes at least one goal).
Home Clean Sheet: how it works
Chelsea (home) vs Spurs (away):
- Chelsea win 2-0. Spurs scored zero goals. Chelsea kept a clean sheet. Home Clean Sheet Yes wins.
- Chelsea win 2-1. Spurs scored once. Home Clean Sheet No wins.
- Chelsea lose 0-2. Chelsea conceded twice. Home Clean Sheet No wins.
- Match ends 0-0. Chelsea conceded zero goals. Home Clean Sheet Yes wins.
The clean sheet belongs to Chelsea (home) only if Spurs score zero goals. Chelsea's own goal tally is not relevant.
Away Clean Sheet: how it works
The same logic applied to the away team.
Arsenal (home) vs Brentford (away):
- Brentford win 1-0. Arsenal scored zero goals. Away Clean Sheet Yes wins.
- Arsenal win 3-1. Brentford scored once, meaning Arsenal conceded once — Away Clean Sheet No wins. (Arsenal did not keep a clean sheet; Brentford did not concede a goal but that is the home clean sheet, not the away clean sheet)
- Match ends 0-0. Brentford conceded zero goals. Away Clean Sheet Yes wins.
What is Teams to Score in betting?
Teams to Score predicts how many of the two teams score at least one goal. There are four possible outcomes:
- Both Teams Score — home team scores + away team scores (same as GG / BTTS Yes)
- Home Team Only — home team scores, away team scores zero
- Away Team Only — away team scores, home team scores zero
- Neither Team Scores — neither team scores; the only score that produces this is 0-0

How Clean Sheet and Teams to Score relate to GG/NG
These markets are built from the same underlying facts — which teams scored.
- Both Teams Score (Teams to Score) = GG / BTTS Yes — identical settlement
- Home Team Only = home team scored + away team did not = Away Clean Sheet Yes + GG No
- Away Team Only = away team scored + home team did not = Home Clean Sheet Yes + GG No
- Neither = both teams conceded zero goals = Home Clean Sheet Yes + Away Clean Sheet Yes + GG No
Note that Home Clean Sheet Yes covers both "Home Team Only" (home scored, away did not) AND "Neither" (neither team scored). The clean sheet market does not require the home team to have scored — only that the away team did not.

Does extra time count?
Standard clean sheet and teams to score markets settle at 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Goals scored in extra time in a knockout match do not count for standard versions of these markets unless explicitly stated.

If the home team wins 1-0, who keeps a clean sheet? The home team. The away team scored zero goals, meaning the home team conceded nothing. Home Clean Sheet Yes wins. The away team did not keep a clean sheet because the home team scored.
Is Clean Sheet Yes the same as BTTS No? They overlap but are not identical. BTTS No (NG) means at least one team scored zero goals — it includes scenarios where either team (or both) kept a clean sheet. Home Clean Sheet Yes specifically means the home team conceded zero. BTTS No would also be true if only the home team scored (away team at zero), meaning both Home Clean Sheet No and Away Clean Sheet Yes are true simultaneously. The markets cover related ground but are different selections.
What is the difference between "Home Clean Sheet Yes" and "Home Team Only"? A 0-0 draw keeps a home clean sheet (away team scored zero), but because neither team scored, the Teams to Score outcome is "Neither" — not "Home Team Only." Home Team Only requires the home team to have scored at least one goal. Home Clean Sheet Yes covers both "Home Team Only" (home scored, away did not) and "Neither" (neither scored). A 0-0 draw wins Home Clean Sheet Yes but loses "Home Team Only."
