Someone has sent you a code and you want in. The happy path takes about 20 seconds — but first, you need an FPL team. If you have not created your 15-player squad yet, you cannot join a mini-league. Set up your team at fantasy.premierleague.com first, then come back here.
The click path
- Sign in to the FPL website or app.
- Select Leagues & Cups from the main menu.
- Tap Create & Join New Leagues & Cups.
- Tap Join Invitational League & Cup.
- Enter the invite code.
- Tap Join League.
That is it. The league appears in your Leagues & Cups list immediately.
Code or link — what is the difference?
If someone sent you a shareable link rather than a code, tap it. It opens the join screen directly and skips steps 2–4 above. The end result is identical; the link is just faster.
If the link does not open correctly on your device, ask for the code and use the manual path above.
Why a code might fail
Typo or character confusion. Invite codes can include characters that look alike: 0 and O, 1 and l. If the code was typed by hand rather than copied, check those characters first.
Wrong account. If you have more than one FPL account, you may be signed in to the one that does not have your team. Sign out, sign in to the correct account, and try again.
Already in the league. If you joined previously or were auto-added to an invitational league, the code will not add you twice. Check your Leagues & Cups list — the league may already be there.
The league's start Gameweek has passed. You can still join, but the table only counts points from the Gameweek set by the admin. If GW1 was the start Gameweek and it is now GW10, your previous nine Gameweeks of points will not appear in that league's standings.
What happens to points from before you joined
Your FPL points from before you joined are not lost — they count in the global rankings and in any other leagues you are already in. Whether they count in this specific mini-league depends on the start Gameweek the admin chose when creating it.
- If the league starts from GW1 and you join in GW1: all points count.
- If the league starts from GW1 and you join in GW8: your GW1–7 points do not appear in this league's table.
- If the admin set the league to start from GW8: your GW1–7 points do not count regardless of when you join.
This is a common source of confusion. Your join date does not control what counts — the league's start Gameweek does.
How to leave a league
Go to Leagues & Cups → the league name → scroll to Leave League. Leaving does not affect your team, your global rank, or your standing in any other league. You can rejoin later if the admin re-shares the code, though your points will only count from the league's start Gameweek onward.
How many leagues can you join?
As many as you like. FPL puts no cap on how many invitational leagues you can be in simultaneously. You are also entered automatically into several public leagues — global, country, and club-supporter leagues — from the moment you create a team.
