A multiple bet (accumulator) combines several selections into one bet. The higher potential odds come with a higher bar to clear — and specific rules govern what happens when a leg is voided or when selections are linked to each other. This page explains all of it.
What happens when one leg of my multiple loses?
If any one selection in a multiple loses, the entire multiple loses. There is no partial payout for legs that did win. This is standard for all accumulators across all bookmakers.
What happens when one leg of my multiple is voided?
A voided selection is removed from the multiple, and the bet recalculates on the remaining legs. Your potential winnings reduce accordingly.
Worked example — a 4-fold accumulator:

After Chelsea is voided, it becomes a 3-fold: 1.80 × 1.95 × 1.75 = 6.14
Your potential win drops from roughly 13x your stake to roughly 6x your stake. All three remaining legs must still win for you to collect.
What is related contingency?
Related contingency is when two selections in a multiple are not truly independent — the outcome of one affects the odds of the other.
The T&C example: a team winning a semi-final AND that same team winning the tournament outright are related. If they win the semi-final, their odds of winning the tournament change — the two outcomes are connected, not independent. Combining them in a standard multiple effectively removes the honest pricing between the two events.
SportyBet's Terms & Conditions state that related selections cannot be combined in a standard multiple. If such a bet is accepted in error, SportyBet can settle it at revised odds that properly reflect the dependency between the two outcomes.
What counts as related contingency?
The clearest cases are selections from the same competition that are logically linked — tournament progression, player or team performance across the same event. A team's result in one leg of a competition affecting their odds in the next leg is the textbook example.
Two selections from completely separate events (different competitions, different sports) are generally independent and can be combined in a standard multiple.
What is Bet Builder and why does it exist?
Bet Builder is SportyBet's dedicated product for combining selections from the same match. If you want to combine, say, a team to win with Over 2.5 goals and a player to score — all within the same game — Bet Builder is the correct product to use.
In a standard multiple, combining selections from the same event is not permitted because the outcomes within a single match are related (a high-scoring game affects the result market; a red card affects both). Bet Builder prices these combinations correctly, accounting for how each element relates to the others.

What if I accidentally put related selections in a standard multiple?
If SportyBet accepts it in error, they can re-settle the bet at revised odds. The bet is not automatically voided — it may stand but at a price that reflects the true relationship between the outcomes.
Does a void leg ever save a losing multiple?
No. The void rule only applies to a leg that is voided — stake returned, remaining legs recalculate. If other legs have already lost, voiding one leg of a multiple that has already lost does not revive the bet. A void removes a selection; it does not override the result of other legs.
